Women, representing 43% of the world's agricultural workforce, are the backbone of rural economies and play an essential role throughout the entire food production chain. Yet, women in agriculture face diverse challenges.
At Yara, strengthening women’s participation in agriculture is directly connected to our ambition to grow a Nature-Positive Food Future and advance Sustainable Development Goals 2 (Zero Hunger) and 5 (Gender Equality).

The Women in Agronomy Scholar Award is a Yara India initiative supporting female PhD students in Agronomy and Soil Science from ICAR-accredited universities.

To Simulate Talent Inflow
Women make up only 11% of agronomy & sales roles in Yara, compared to 26% globally. This initiative can create stronger linkages between academia and industry and project Yara as an attractive workplace.
