Yara India Revives Muzaffarpur’s Litchi Glory Through Farmer-Centric Interventions

September 12, 2025

National, September 12, 2025: Yara India, a subsidiary of Yara International and the world’s leading crop nutrition company, continues to transform Indian agriculture by equipping farmers with science-led, sustainable practices. A shining example is Mr. BP Singh Jaduon, a young and progressive farmer from Naya Bansh, Shamsabad, who cultivates 35 acres of land and has earned a reputation for producing high-quality potatoes with excellent shelf life, supplied across India. With eight years of experience in potato and seed production, BP Singh embraced Yara’s crop nutrition solutions three years ago, marking a turning point in his farming journey.

Before partnering with Yara India, BP Singh faced challenges such as inconsistent yields, poor crop quality, and deteriorating soil health due to unbalanced nutrition practices. Determined to overcome these hurdles, he adopted the Yara Crop Plan, which included YaraMila Complex, YaraLiva Nitrabor, YaraVita Seniphos, and other tailored solutions designed specifically for potato cultivation. This scientific and integrated approach enabled him to shift away from traditional methods towards a more sustainable and balanced practice.

The impact was both visible and measurable. BP Singh’s potato crop now demonstrates superior size, shape, and quality, fetching a higher market value and ensuring longer shelf life. With healthier soil and reduced dependency on additional inputs, he has been able to lower production costs while improving overall profitability. His success has also inspired neighboring farmers to follow suit, creating a ripple effect of progressive change in the region.

Reflecting on his journey, BP Singh shared, “Yara’s crop solutions have transformed my farming practices and the quality of my produce. Not only are my potatoes more profitable, but they are also recognized in premium markets across India. Yara has given me the confidence to farm sustainably while ensuring long-term profitability.”

Looking ahead, BP Singh believes that Yara’s science-backed solutions are vital for building climate-smart agriculture and nutrient-rich produce. He envisions a resilient farming future in Shamsabad, where more farmers adopt sustainable practices that ensure both prosperity and food security for generations to come.
