Scholar Award 2025-26 – Call for Applications
About the Program:
Yara India’s Women in Agronomy Scholar Award 2025-26 is an initiative dedicated to supporting and empowering 3 female PhD students pursuing their studies in Agronomy or Soil Science from ICAR accredited universities and interested in transitioning research into the corporate world. This award seeks to nurture academic excellence and scientific research, promote gender diversity in agricultural science and provide a platform for female scholars to gain one-time fixed financial award, 6 months of mentorship, and a corporate exposure that will strengthen both their academic and professional journeys.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Application is open for female scholars only.
- PhD students currently enrolled full-time in any year of Agronomy or Soil Science programs at ICAR-accredited universities or State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) across India.
- Requires a minimum score of 7.5 OGPA or equivalent in Masters/PG with strong research potential.
- Be open to participate in mentorship and corporate engagement activities as needed.
- The applicant must not be receiving financial aid from any other company or private entity. Must hold Indian citizenship and residency, and only applicants residing in India will be considered.
- Students from across India are eligible to participate.
- The student's annual family income must be ₹6,00,000 or less.
- Children of employees of Yara India are not eligible.
What Does the Award Offer?
Awardees will receive:
- Financial Award – One-time award of USD 1500 subject to exchange rates on the award date per student to empower 3 PhD female students across India to support tuition fees, research activities, or living expenses.
- Research Mentorship (2025-2026) – 6-month guidance on research methods, trends, frameworks. Link between academic work and real-world corporate impact and Insights from Yara mentors with R&D experience.
- Corporate Exposure & employability – Early exposure to corporate working and R&D culture. Virtual sessions on drafting Curriculum Vitae-CV, LinkedIn, and cracking interviews. Webinar on workplace values: Curiosity, Collaboration, Accountability, Ambition. Visibility into Yara career paths
- Recognition – Awardees will be profiled on our platforms as role models for inspiring women in agriculture.
Selection Process:
- All applications will be reviewed by a selection panel of Yara Committee.
- Shortlisted eligible candidates will be invited for a virtual interview with the Yara lead experts.
- Final Three (3) awardees will be selected based on academic merit, research relevance, interview and motivation. The decisions of the selection panel will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the panel’s decisions.
- The scholarship award recipients will be announced during an award ceremony (Virtual/In-person) organised by Yara that will take place between November-December 2025.
