My soil is my strength. Protecting it is my responsibility — that’s why I am Maati Ka Rakhwala.

Sandip

My name is Sandip, and I’m one of the youngest banana farmers in Malshiras, Solapur. The biggest responsibility on my shoulders is to protect the soil that supports my future. For me, banana farming is not just hard work… it’s smart work.
Every season begins with knowing my soil. I check its nutrients, moisture, and pH, and I follow a proper fertigation plan instead of using fertilizers blindly. I’ve learned that when you truly understand your soil, you grow with your soil.

To keep my land alive, I rely on organic matter, drip irrigation, proper spacing, and balanced fertilizers. I avoid excess water and heavy chemical loads because I know they weaken the soil over time. A strong future comes only from strong soil — and that strength must be protected with care.

I believe real progress starts when young farmers choose scientific and sustainable farming practices. Healthy soil grows healthy banana bunches — and a healthier tomorrow for farmers like me.
