C. P. Singh, an Agriculture Graduate from Kushmi, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, has been associated with farming for over 20 years. Traditionally, he cultivated sugarcane, wheat, and paddy crops in Maharajganj. However, for the past 10 years, he has focused on vegetable farming in Gorakhpur. He primarily grows a variety of crops, including okra, bottle gourd, brinjal, cucurbits, cauliflower, sponge gourd, and others on his 15 acres of agricultural land. His produce is known for its exceptional quality in nearby markets, and fellow farmers from other villages follow his cultivation practices.
C. P. Singh states that when he initially began vegetable farming, achieving high-quality and high-yield produce was a significant challenge. However, his background in agriculture and his commitment to excellence motivated him to adopt modern farming techniques. By using high-quality agricultural inputs, he not only improved the quality of his produce but also achieved better yields.
Farmers like C. P. Singh are torchbearers for Indian vegetable farmers. They inspire others to produce superior-quality crops, contribute to a brighter future for the farming community, and ensure a healthy food supply for consumers.
