Programme Details

India has made remarkable strides in ensuring universal primary school enrollment, but learning gaps persist—especially in rural areas where many students still struggle with basic reading and numeracy skills. NEP 2020 highlights this as a national priority, calling for stronger foundational learning, digital access, and support for girls’ education. In Uttar Pradesh, and particularly in Sambhal district, challenges such as limited digital infrastructure, teacher shortages, and low STEM/ICT exposure continue to affect learning outcomes. Kiran bridges these gaps through a continuum of interventions—from early childhood education to digital learning support.

Education

Our Initiatives include:

  • Rainbow Centres for pre-primary learning
  • After-School Learning Centres (ASLC) for remedial support
  • Digital learning through CLAP
  • Accessible Learning for All
  • E-Libraries to build curiosity and digital confidence
  • Support to primary school Nagaliya Kazi, summer camps, and more

Outcomes

Digital Literacy - Computer Education at School in collaboration with HP (project CLAP)
  • Over 90% of parents report positive behavioural changes among children attending Rainbow Centres
  • Children access centres within 0.1–0.5 km, keeping education inclusive and affordable
  • Nearly all enrolled children show improved listening, expression, and readiness for school
  • Over 90% of parents say ASLC has improved school attendance and academic performance
  • Digital Pathshala tackles the digital divide—critical in a state where only 11.7% of schools have functional computers

CTA

Kiran aims to scale digital and remedial learning, strengthen school infrastructure, and focus on girls’ education and preventing dropouts, while working closely with communities, government schools, and partners. Together, we are building a stronger education-to-employability pathway for rural children and youth.
