India faces a major skilling gap. PLFS 2023–24 shows only 4.4% of the workforce has formal vocational training, while 67% have not undergone any form of skill development. In Uttar Pradesh, this drops to just 2.2%. Youth unemployment remains high—12.9% in rural areas and 10.2% nationally (15–29 years). Labour force participation is rising but unequal, with women at 41.7% versus 78.8% for men. In Uttar Pradesh, youth unemployment stands at 9.8%. YFI’s Skill Development programs work to close these gaps by improving skilling and employability among rural and marginalized youth.
By mobilizing youth, especially women, Yara India promotes inclusion, reduces dropouts, and strengthens workforce participation. Through its Vocational Training Centres and partnerships with leading training providers, Yara India advances the goals of Skill India, National Skill Development Mission, and Digital India. Its mix of hands-on training, industry exposure, and placement support helps youth transition from education to employment and toward self-reliance.
