From 15 Years of Responsible Growth to ‘Achhe Kal Ki Neev’: Yara India Takes Sustainability to Schools

National, 14 August 2026: Yara India, world’s leading fertilizer company and provider of environmental solutions, is taking its ‘Achhe Kal Ki Neev’ fruit tree plantation and awareness initiative to government schools across its areas of operation. The initiative builds on Yara India’s 15-year journey in the country, bringing together environmental stewardship, nutrition awareness and community engagement to create meaningful, long-term impact for communities.

The two-day initiative, scheduled for 14–15 August, is being conducted in select government schools located in the rural belts of Yara's areas of operation across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. Bringing together students, school management, Yara representatives and local community stakeholders, including farmers, the programme aims to foster environmental awareness through the plantation of fruit-bearing trees and interactive learning sessions. It seeks to help students understand the connection between a healthy environment, nutrition and responsible environmental practices.

From 15 Years of Responsible Growth to ‘Achhe Kal Ki Neev’:

Speaking on the initiative, Sanjiv Kanwar, Managing Director, Yara South Asia, said, “Over the past 15 years, our engagement in India has reinforced our belief that meaningful progress is built through sustained action and strong community participation. ‘Achhe Kal Ki Neev’ reflects this philosophy by bringing together environmental responsibility, nutrition awareness and the participation of young minds. By creating greener school environments and encouraging students to engage with these themes, we hope to lay the foundation for healthier, more sustainable communities for generations to come.”

The initiative is creating green spaces within participating school campuses through the plantation of fruit-bearing trees, including Mango, Guava, Ber, Jamun, and Pomegranate. The programme currently includes 1000+ saplings across confirmed locations. As part of Yara India’s broader community engagement and responsible growth efforts, ‘Achhe Kal Ki Neev’ aims to bring sustainability and nutrition conversations closer to young people, encouraging them to become active participants in creating greener and healthier communities while fostering a lasting understanding of environmental stewardship and the importance of investing in future generations.
